Wednesday Link Love
I’m currently working on a long feature post about using Flickr to market your photos. In the meantime, though, I hope today’s list of links can tide you over:
- A new online media editing site called Aviary is getting ready to launch. They’re currently accepting requests for early invitations. Go over and ask for one. It looks very promising!
- Mashable reports that the online photo editor, FotoFlexer has just announced its Pro service will be free!
- Don’t get too carried away with your photo-editing, though! A photographer in China has been blacklisted for creating a fake.
- Before you enter the latest and greatest photo contest, be sure to check out this article from JMG Galleries about reading the fine print.
- Annoyed by lens flare? Check out this article from Photocritic.org for a few tips.
- Thinking about featuring your work in a gallery? Read this article, also from Photocritic.org for some insight into this potentially nerve-wracking process.
- Antoine over at All Day I Dream About Photography has posted two very interesting articles: One on using neutral density filters and another on why white lenses are white!
- Stirlyn has a great article on why you should go to photography school. Most of us appear to be self-learners, which is great, but after reading this, I’m considering taking a class or two.
That’s about it for today!
Make sure you subscribe to my feed so you don’t miss some exciting content that is coming up! As I already mentioned, I have a feature post in the works on how to use Flickr to market your photos!

Thanks Shawn for the links !
Sorry but I REALLY have to ask, is it true that you haven’t still fallen for one of these white lenses ?
That China man should certainly have stepped down, I could see doing it as a side project or something, but entering a fraud into a photography competition.. makes me sick.
Great links, I’ve never heard of the white lense, have to check that out too.
@Antoine: Oh, I’ve definitely fallen for the white lenses… Just haven’t had a spare $1500 to buy one yet! I’ll likely be buying the 70-200mm, f/2.8 soon though!
@Chica: Agreed. This was an award-winning photo. Makes you wonder how many others have been faked but never got any attention.
Thanks!
