Photographing Paris - Day 2

Photographing Paris - Day 2

Wow, what a day! We started off this morning with some breakfast at a cafe on Rue Soufflot. Since we could see the Eiffel Tower in the distance from where we were sitting, we decided to make a go at walking there. Looooong walk. We must have walked the entire length of the city… Among other things, we saw Jardin du Luxembourg, Hotels des Invalides, the Eiffel Tower, Place de la Concorde, Jardin des Tuileries, the Louvre, and so much more. I’d love to tell you every single thing we saw but, to be honest, I’m exhausted… So, I’m going to let Google Maps and my photos speak for me:

Rough map of our walking route today:

I only uploaded fairly small versions since I am using a wireless connection while I’m here… When I get back, I’ll be uploading larger images…

Also… I’ll be updating Twitter about 2 to 3 times per day. Please know that I turned off SMS updates so I don’t incur extra SMS charges. So, if I don’t reply to one of your Tweets, that’s why. You can follow me on Twitter by going to http://twitter.com/sduffyphotos.

  1. Just curious if you are doing any post processing on any of these photos. I am guessing you are doing something to make the clouds jump out.

  2. Good job your’e both fit! :D

  3. I got here via a link from Wade, after seeing his comments I guess I gotta run him some kleenex. Great pics bro, the paris ones are incredible and that one of the sunset in Annapolis is sweet. I have found a new hobby in photography recently and am having fun with it. You should be proud, those are some quality shots. Enjoy the rest of trip.

  4. Nice work all around Shawn!!! When you get back we from your travels we have to get together for a beer. Maybe bring some of your favorite shots over for printing on my Epson r2400. Safe travels and drink lots of wine-

  5. Thanks again everyone for the wonderful comments! It was an incredible trip and I can’t wait to upload more photos!

@Ian: I converted a few of them into high dynamic range photos which helped bring out the clouds. There are a ton of tutorials online for creating HDR photos. It’s not too difficult… You should give it a shot!

  6. I’m so impressed w/ all of these! I can’t even say I have a favorite because each is unique and beautiful!

I need to get to Paris now!

  7. Thanks! Yes, you definitely need to get to Paris… Such an incredible city. Just make sure you bring lots of on- and off-camera photo storage. You’ll be snapping like crazy!

  8. “to make a beautiful landscape photo, you have to go where the beautiful landscape is”. I seem to believe it more and more.

  9. Thanks!
