A few Palestine uploads

Given that I have about 10,000 more photos to edit from my trip, I won’t be updating the blog every time I finish a new batch… That’s just a little too much. However, I did want to post about the most recent batch because it was from a day where I probably shot more than any other single day during my trip.

This batch of photos is from June 15th. You might remember from previous posts, that June 15th was our first day at New Askar Refugee Camp. The kids from the camp led us on a parade through the refugee camp to the cemetery where they layed wreaths at the graves of children who have recently been killed by the Israeli army. It was quite an incredible event.

Anyway, I’ve posted some photos below… some of which you may not have seen yet. The entire set of June 15th’s photos can be found here.

Pittsburgh Parade Wrap-Up

I’m back from Pittsburgh… I did quite a bit of shooting at the parade but a little less than I did last year. I wanted to actually enjoy the parade a little this year. The night before the parade I also found out that Hillary Clinton would be making an appearance in an effort to woo Pennsylvania voters ahead of the April 22nd Democratic primary. The atmosphere was more like a political convention rather than a parade, but it was a good time, nonetheless. Personally, I am not a fan of Mrs. Clinton, but the photographer in me insisted that I do my best to get some good shots. As I mentioned on Friday, a big camera and a little confidence will take you a long way in these circumstances. I managed to get inside the line surrounding Mrs. Clinton and got within a few feet of her to snap a few shots.

St. Patty’s Day Parade in Pittsburgh!

I’m originally from Pittsburgh, PA and I happen to Irish… So, this weekend I’ll be traveling home to the Steel City to enjoy the Pittsburgh St. Patrick’s Day parade! If there are any photographers from Pittsburgh reading this, I’d highly encourage you to come out and photograph the event! There are a ton of photo opportunities and, as long as you look comfortable and confident, the police won’t stop you from walking through the parade itself taking photos… With a big enough camera and lens, they’ll just assume you’re supposed to be there. After all, what idiot would spend thousands of dollars on photo equipment if they weren’t making money from it? Hehe…
